    Directions

    In a Dutch oven over medium heat, melt butter. Stir in onions; cook and stir for 15 minutes. Stir in flour and cook for 2 minutes. Pour in broth and water; heat to boiling. Reduce heat to low, add turkey and simmer, partially covered, for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Salt and pepper soup to taste. Heat oven to 425°F. Ladle soup into 4 oven-safe bowls. Set in a jelly-roll pan. Place 1 slice toasted French bread on top of soup in each bowl. Top each with a slice of cheese.
